What's the Difference Between Beef Jerky and Biltong?

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Beef Jerky and Biltong?
We'll explain it here so you can decide which of the two you prefer.

What is Beef Jerky?

Beef Jerky, such as our Wild West Original, is made from beef silverside, chicken breast or salmon. The meat is hand-cut and marinated with simple, natural ingredients like soy sauce and apple cider vinegar, then slow-cooked and smoked using apple or beech wood.

Beef jerky comes in a wide range of flavours: mildly spicy in the Texan-style recipe, barbecue and honey, sea salt and black pepper, chilli and many more, so you're sure to find your favourite.

What is Biltong?

Our Biltong is made entirely from beef silverside, cut and then hand-rubbed with herbs and spices. The beef silverside is then dried and carefully selected once it reaches just the right level of moisture.

Biltong is then sliced and prepared in two delicious flavours based on the original South African recipe: Original and Chilli, and finally packaged into handy packs ready for you to enjoy.

How do they compare to other snacks?

Beef jerky and Biltong have fewer calories, less fat and sugar, and more protein compared to other snacks.
